The company's Managing Director Eng David Onyango said the program has been supported by a grant from the Water Services Trust Fund.

“We are grateful to WSTF which in the last three years funded us to a tune of Sh50 million to expand water supply to various places in Kisumu,” he said.

Eng Onyango requested WSTF to consider supporting rural schemes through similar platforms as well as to help accelerate access to water in rural areas.

The company chairman Israel Agina said the objective of the project is to improve access to safe water, reduce the distances to the water points, lower the cost of water by making it affordable and at the same time improve the state of sanitation and livelihood within the area.

Mr Agina said the area was selected due to its current lack of proper water supply and steadily rising population as well as the willingness of the residents to pay for the water services once the water supply is improved.

“I would like to inform you that the residents will be put on affordable tariff they can afford,” he said during the launch of the project in Manyatta.
