Led by Sensi Ward rep, Mr Paul Angwenyi, the ward reps alleged that assembly officials could not account for Sh 16 million.

"The money got lost between December last year and January under the current speaker," Mr Angwenyi said.

According to him, that is why they were demanding that the speaker steps down.

He also wondered why the assembly under Mr Kombo used Sh 2.3 million to purchase conference chairs for the county.

"We can read corruption everywhere in the assembly and something should be done before it is too late," they said.

"All that time we were on recess and we still wondering who allowed them to use the money," he added.

He also hinted that they were in plans to table a motion of no confidence against the speaker, saying that he was not fit to hold office for the next five years.

For three weeks now the speaker has come under sharp criticism after he led ward representatives and county staff to a trip in Mwanza, Tanzania.
