Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KERRA) has embarked on the construction of this road following various complaints lodged by the area residents on the poor state of the road.

Speaking during the commissioning of the project, Kahangara welcomed the face-lifting efforts that will ease movement especially to those seeking medical assistance at the Hospital.

MP Kahangara said that consequently the project will offer employment opportunity to most youths in the area.

“The contact was awarded fairly and squarely and it will provide employment opportunities to the youths in this region. This project is funded by the Constituency,” said MP Kahangara.

He added that the road construction will open up the Constituency to the periphery and provide easier access to the Hospital.

“We have heard the Constituents’ grievances concerning this road and we are working towards making Lari the best in the entire Kiambu County,” retorted Kahangara.

Kahangara, also asked KERRA and the residents engineer to ensure that the project is completed within the stipulated time to relieve the residents of the challenges in movement especially on the onset of rainy season.

Joseph Kang’ethe a resident said, “We are happy that the government has finally heard our complaints about this road. We have had difficulties taking our loved ones to access medical services at Kijabe Hospital. We hope they will do a good job.”

Kang’ethe added that they have been pleading with them to upgrade the road for some time since it is completely impassable especially on rainy season.

The MP confirmed that the project will be completed at a cost of Sh160 million.
