The county government of Uasin Gishu has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with JHPIEGO, an International Health Non Governmental Organization (NGO) that will see improved distribution of contraceptives commodities and avail family planning medical equipment across the county.
The initiative dubbed 'The Challenge Initiative (TCI) Tupange Pamoja', aims at using participatory approach and will be executed by the county government.
Speaking during the signing of the MoU at the county headquarters in Eldoret town, Tuesday, the County Director in charge of Preventive and Promotive Services Dr. Evans Kiprotich said the county will invest close to Sh10 million to facilitate the initiative with JHPIEGO also investing a similar amount.
"As a county we will strengthen stakeholders working relationship, lobby for support and data reflection in District health Information software (DHIS) across various health interventions," noted Dr. Kiprotich.
"There will also be regular and ongoing technical and programmatic support to the County throughout the implementation period," he added.
