Deputy President William Ruto has announced that remaining IDPs in 17 counties will be compensated by Wednesday.
According to the DP Sh2.2 billion has been set aside for the exercise.
He said an additional Sh1.9 billion has been set aside for a second phase of payment in two months' time.
The Wednesday payment will be issued to 44,500 people, while the second payment has been set aside for 39,000 people.
Ruto said they will not allow a repeat of the 2007/08 post-election that left atleast 1,300 dead and more than 600,000 homeless.
"It is only a fool who learns from his mistakes. Intelligent people learn from the mistakes of others. That is why we have said we shall do all we can to unite Kenyans”, he said on Sunday.
The Deputy President was speaking in AIC Primary School grounds in Ol Kalou .
