Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) officials have intercepted more than Sh267 million of fake Euros at the JKIA in Nairobi and arrested 2 suspects.
Julius Musyoki,the KRA Customs and Border Control commissioner, said Norwegian Abdi Osman and Sudanese Mohamed Hassan were ferrying the money from Nairobi to Dubai.
Musyoki said in a statement on Monday that the money, which was in 25 bundles of about 178 notes of 500 Euro bills, had been hidden in two suitcases.
"The money was seized on Thursday at around 10.30 pm at Gate 7 during our shift operations, following intelligence that the two were suspects," he said.
Flight itinerary indicted they were to travel back to Nairobi on today then proceed to Mogadishu.
"The exhibits are being held at the customs warehouse awaiting issuance of a seizure notice and subsequent handover to police for investigations," said Musyoki.
