Uasin Gishu County Information Communication Technology (ICT) Executive Barnabas Sang has said that the county government has set aside Sh38 million to automate all tax collections to boost revenue collection.

Briefing Journalists from his office on Tuesday, the Executive Sang said that the county has already procured automation machines for the project.

Sang stated that the county government is keen on boosting revenue by sealing loopholes and to also deal with tax evaders and some few corrupt people.

“The county government has set aside Sh38 million in the next Financial Budget Estimates to roll out automation of taxes,” revealed Sang.

He noted that accountability and transparency will also be realised when the systems come to operation.

Sang noted, “We expect to roll out the automation by the end of July this year.” He added that the government will integrate ICT in other sectors.

He observed that the government is banking on ICT to boost service delivery to the people of Uasing Gishu County.

Sang also said that programmes will be initiated to train county staff on ICT usage and applications to make the familiar with the new technology.
