Kiambu government will increase the Biashara Trust Fund from Sh300 million to Sh700 million, county governor William Kabogo has disclosed.
Addressing the media at Kiambu town on Sunday, Kabogo said that the move will enable more people to benefit.
The Governor added that the county government is focused to promote the welfare of residents through such initiatives.
“We are preparing the necessary laws that will see the Biashara Fund increased to Sh700 million,” he said.
Kabogo said that the government is also employing other strategies that will help cub unemployment and poverty.
Kabogo urged residents to take advantage of the fund and better their business and livelihoods.
He said that anyone is eligible to apply and there are no restrictions on the same. Kabogo noted that the aim f the fund is to better the livelihood of locals.
On the same note, the governor urged the county youths to be active and engage in development.
He said that the county government is running various activities that young people should be willing and ready to take part in.
