The government has set aside over Ksh. 4000 million for modernization and equipping the Nyamira level 4 hospital. Speaking in Nyansiongo parish during a fundraiser for the completion of a church, the deputy president Hon. William Ruto said that the jubilee government will be putting the health sector in the forefront of its development agenda to ensure that the common man get cheap and available health services. He said that the government had the amount of money for installation of a new intensive care unit ( ICU), radiology and dialysis machines to ease the burden of travel and other costs. "Our government besides focusing on education,health sector is also our priority and we have put aside over Ksh. 425million shillings for the upgrade of Nyamira Level four hospital and modernizing the facility.We want the facility to offer all health services that the citizens are getting from other places" said Ruto. He also said that Ksh.380 million had also been set aside for the upgrade of Keroka District hospital which will see the county residents access the health services with less strain. He called on the county government to cooperate and work together with the National government in order to realize development in the area as it was all that the residents needed.
