Trans-Nzoia County government has released 45 million shillings to fight the invasion of fall army worms.
The worms have destroyed thousands of acres of land in the region.
Governor Patrick Khaemba stated that the insfestation has led to huge losses in the area.
The army worms were first spotted in Uganda before crossing over to the western part of the country.
The pest is now spreading rapidly across the region destroying maize crop posing a major threat to food security
The funds will be used to procure chemicals for spraying farms in Kiminini and Endebess sub-counties.
