Uasin Gishu county government has set aside Sh600 million to repair roads this Financial Year.

Addressing locals during a tour of Eldoret town yesterday, Governor Jackson Mandago said that all roads in the county have been earmarked for repairs.

He observed that the repairs and renovations will commence before the onset of rains.

He added that most roads especially connecting to remote villages are I bad state.

“The county government has set aside Sh 600 million to oversee repair of roads,” he said.

The governor added that they are working with various road authorities to ensure the exercises are completed on time.

Governor Mandgo intimated that road repairs will enable farmers to access markets.

He observed poor roads have been hindering farmers from the rich agricultural region to access the market.

Governor Mandago also challenged leaders in the county to shelve their political differences and work with him to propel development.

Mandago said that development and providing services to the people is what all leaders should focus on.
