Some of the money, according to the Ministry PS Susan Mochache will be used to cater for vulnerable children through the cash transfer.

"The government has established Cash Transfers to Orphans and Vulnerable Children, Older Persons and the disabled which have had great impact on poverty reduction and other situations that may deny children the full right of enjoyment of their rights," she says

PS Mochache was speaking during the launch of The Day of The African Child national celebrations held at Molo Secondary School on Thursday, Nakuru County.

She challenges all security agents and Kenyans to ensure that children security is safeguarded.

According to her, it is the duty of every Kenyan to guard the rights of all children and we should maintain peaceful co-existence adding that in case of a conflict or crisis children suffer most.

The day is commemorated each year as the Day of the African Child to honour those who had laid down their lives for the cause of freedom in South Africa.

By adopting this day the African Union has drawn attention to the plight, not only of children in South Africa, but also to the plight of children across Africa.
