[Photo|Ochieng Owili]Kisumu County Deputy Governor Dr. Ochieng' Owili, City Manager Doris Ombara and her team led the ground breaking of Nyamasaria (Butter toast) - Magadi Catholic Centre (Opposite Manyatta Peace Market) bitumen road on Friday. The road, one of the Kisumu Urban projects (KUP), is located within Kolwa Central and Manyatta B wards of Kisumu East Constituency.

"Last year we launched Kaloleni estate road worth over Sh70 million, today the launch of this Sh99 million road marks the beginning of real development in Manyatta B ward. This project will cause the appreciation of value of properties in the area that lead to will definitely lead to improved livelihoods," said Owili.He indicated that the road will be constructed with standard waterways that will help manage perennial flood problems that for a long time have affected the lives of the people of Manyatta B."Very soon we will be launching the construction of the Ksh. 308 million Dunga Impala road."The road covers a total of 2.1km. The contractor (Ascoda General Contractors) is expected to complete the work within a period of 9 months.Also present were Nyando MP Jared Okello, CEC Economic Planning and Development Richard D Ogendo, CEC Health Rosemary Obara, CEC Business Trade and Industry Alice Moraa, area MCA Pamela Odhiambo and Kolwa Central MCA George Olwal.
