Taveta MP Naomi Shaban  will battle it out with Maendeleo Chap Chap aspirant Jackson Mwalulu after his fiercest rival Mr Mike Banton dropped out of the race.

Banton has said that he will not contest as an Independent Candidate after he lost during nominations.

The aspirant, however, lamented that the  exercise was marred with irregularities after he garnered 5,661 votes against the incumbent MPs 9,751 votes.

Mwalulu will be banking on the support of Machakos Governor

Dr Alfred Mutua, also the party boss to defeat Shaban during the forthcoming general polls.Speaking after dropping his bid, Banton said that he does not agree with the outcome of the nominations.“The exercise was marred with irregularities. There was multiple voting in most polling stations in favour of my opponent,” he said, as quoted by Nation. He also said that he does not have a reason to blame the Jubilee

administration since it has been good to him since he announced his bid.“My party has not wronged me so I have no reason to resign from it. I have decided to actively campaign for the party because if our party leader wins we all win,” he added. Besides Mwalulu, Shaban will lack horns with Jasper Mruttu (Ford Kenya) Ruth Lelewu (ODM) Stephen Odiaga (Wiper) and Moris Mutiso (independent).
