Mombasa gubernatorial aspirant Suleiman Shahbal has taken a swipe at Governor Hassan Joho, accusing him of failing the county's residents.
Shahbal, who was on a meet-the-people tour in Jomvu on Tuesday accused the county leadership of misplaced priorities, citing the recently launched 7 aside stadium which he claimed cannot host any competitive matches.Shahbal, who resigned as Gulf African bank to focus on his campaigns, hit out at the Joho-led administration terming it a talk- shop which has failed at managing county resources prudently."What return to investment can Mombasa possibly get from the pitches? I stand for prudent management of public resources: investing where there are returns to investment and where the public derive maximum benefit," said Shahbal.Accompanied by top Jubilee politicians from the county, Shahbal called for regime change in Mombasa which he said is the best way to reclaim the city from bad leadership.Dismissing the opinion polls that placed him second to Joho, Shahbal claimed the pollsters are used by opponents to shape the public opinions ahead of the polls.
