Mombasa governor hopeful Suleiman Shahbal has sustained his onslaught on Governor Hassan Joho whom he accused of engaging in petty supremacy battles with the State instead of focusing on his development agenda.
In a statement posted on his Facebook page, Shahbal said Jubilee Party is part of the opposition in the Mombasa County Assembly which is dominated by ODM, adding that it is their role to scrutinize the county activities. He hit out at the Joho-led administration, claiming it has used every opportunity to criticize the national government at the expense of development which is its core mandate."Mombasa leadership is the first to criticize the national government by mourning at any opportunity they can create, they have forgotten that they were elected to bring development and serve the people they claim to fight for," read part of the statement. The politician further claimed that despite receiving Sh40 billion from the national government over the past four years, the county government has nothing to show for the huge budget.Joho has in the past denied receiving Sh40 billion from the national government.Shahbal's latest attack is one of the many that he has directed at the incumbent Governor who is keen to retain his seat during the August 8 polls.
