Mombasa County governor hopeful Suleiman Shahbal has allayed fears of any potential fallout with his running mate Ananiah Mwaboza amid reports that the two are engaged in a supremacy battle.
Speaking during an interview on K24 TV on Sunday, the Jubilee candidate said that their relationship is strong and that any suggestion of fallout is wrong."We have been friends since 2013.He's a lawyer and I am an economist, so we bring our ideas together. The fact that we campaign separately does not mean that we are not together. There is no bad blood between us and we hope to win together,” said Shahbal.Rumours of fallout between the two Jubilee point men in Mombasa have emerged on several occasions with the most recent one being when they submitted their nominations papers to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) for clearance.Shahbal was forced to wait for several hours before being cleared as Mwaboza arrived late.Shahbal, however, has rubbished claims that there is bad blood between the two, and assured supporters that they enjoy a cordial relationship.
