Kiambu county community policing chairman Paul Njomo has expressed concerns over the poor turnout of Kenyans in the community.
He voiced this during a policing meeting in Makongeni, Thika terming the turnout as shameful and ignorant.
This comes after Njomo was forced to call off the community policing meeting in Makongeni Phase Four on Sunday after residents failed to turn up.
The chairman who was speaking at the site said that it was such a shame when Kenyans would just pass by and ignore important meetings like Nyumba Kumi where solutions for security issues would be discussed.
He said that Makongeni area has been taking notice of insecurity and that it was ignorant of the residents not to attend the meeting despite them being the most affected ones.
“It is such a shame when Kenyans just pass by and ignore important meetings like this. These meetings are where solutions for security issues affecting the area should be discussed. It goes a long way to show how vulnerable and ignorant our communities have become yet they complain of how the government has failed them in terms of security,” said Njomo.
Njomo revealed that he was planning to conduct another meeting at Kenyatta primary school in Thika township ward on Friday and urged residents to come out and discuss issues of insecurity.
He said that the country is suffering from terrorism and urged the communities to embrace Nyumba Kumi and community policing to help curb terrorists within our community.
He advocated President Uhuru Kenyatta to step up his tactics and insist on community policing which will save the generation and the beloved country Kenya.
