Abuga Makori Jnr proved right his writing prowess when he bagged the Sh10,000 cash prize award for the third time.
Mr Abuga's stories recorded the highest number of page views to clinch the top position out of the over 800 writers submitting stories to HiviSasa.
"I would like to say it is all about hard work and consistency," he said in an interview.
"Getting news sources and being the first to report helped my stories rank high. Readership is also important so I reached several social media platforms and shared links to expand my readership."
When he won the prize for the first time, Abuga elbowed his closest challengers -- Mike Okoyo and Fred Kennedy to win Sh10,000.
He did it again this week after beating other high-ranked writers -- Dickens Luvanda who won Sh5,000 and Fred Kennedy who will receive Sh2,000.
The two emerged first and second runner-up respectively. Details about the cash prizes and other payments can be found here.
"I wish to encourage my fellow online writers that this job pays and anyone can win as long as you remain focused, trustworthy, credible and proactive to establish news sources," he said.
"I am very determined to continue winning," he said, adding that sharing of stories on Facebook has been the key to success.
Hivisasa recently launched a weekly competition through which writers can win cash.
