Kariobangi Sharks striker Juma Masoud seems likely to be crowned 2017 season SportPesa Premier League top scorer.
According to KPL.co.ke, the player has so far scored fifteen goals with a landmark being the four goals he scored against relegation destined Muhoroni Youth FC last weekend.
He has already matched the 15 goals scored by last season’s top scorer John Mark Makwata who plays for Zambia’s Buildcon FC.
He was by then playing for Ulinzi Stars. Tusker FC’s Jesse Jackson Were scored 22 goals in 2015.
Juma Masoud’s goals have propelled Kariobangi Sharks to the 6th position with 46 points, in their maiden season in the Kenyan Premier League.
The player, who has featured for national soccer team Harambee Stars on various occasions, has another chance to add to his tally when Kariobangi Sharks host Sony Sugar on Saturday.
Gor Mahia’s Meddie Kagere and Jacques Tuyisenge, and Nakumatt FC striker Kepha Aswani have scored twelve goals apiece, with two matches remaining before the season comes to an end.
Stephen Waruru of Ulinzi Stars and Umaru Kasumba of Sofapaka are joint third with 11 goals each, while Mathare United’s Chrispin Oduor stands alone in the fourth position having scored 10 goals.
