Deputy President William Ruto is said to to be opposed to President Uhuru Kenyatta's nominees to cabinet, reports the Sunday Nation.
With Ruto having objected some names believed to have been proposed by Uhuru, it is also said that the move has led him to delay submitting his preferred people to cabinet.
Conspicuously missing from State House when Uhuru named nine ministers, Ruto is also said to be uncomfortable with expected entry of Gideon Moi, or otherwise his allies to cabinet.
To tame rising tensions in Rift Valley, seemingly rivalry between Moi and Ruto, the president is said to have entered into an MoU with KANU that would see it get a stake in government.
Interestingly, Sunday Nation adds, Ruto is said to be defending a few cabinet secretaries who he believes deserves reappointment.
Further, appointment of Ukur Yatani is said to have angered the DP, who he openly opposed in favour of current Marsabit Governor Mohammed Ali.
Also, the DP, who is eyeing 2022 presidential elections, is unhappy with appointment of John Munyes and Keriako Tobiko, who may not add any political value to his 2022 bid.
