Nairobi governor aspirant Peter Kenneth on Wednesday got a boost in his bid for the top seat when 12 city MPs, among them the Nairobi women representative Racheal Shebesh, confirmed their support.
Kenneth, who is in a long drawn out battle with Mike Sonko, led the 12 when he went to submit his nomination papers at the party headquarters in Pangani.
The two candidates are jostling for the position of who will be tasked with the roll of fighting it out with incumbent Evans Kidero.
Among the MPs who support Kenneth's bid include nominated MP Sonia Birdi, Waihenya Ndirangu (Roysambu), John Chege (Kasarani), James Mwangi (Embakasi North) and John Ndirangu (Embakasi Central). Others were George Theuri (Embakasi West), Benson Mutura (Makadara), Yusuf Hassan (Kamukunji), Maina Kamanda (Starehe, TNA) and Steven Kariuki (Mathare, ODM).
