Nairobi Women Representative Rachel Shebesh has dismissed claims that the Jubilee administration intends to spend Sh2 billion during the launch of the Jubilee Party.
Ms Shebesh who spoke during a live television talk show on Monday said the claims were from opposition politicians out to taint the name of the yet to ba launched party.
President Uhuru Kenyatta intends to use the party to defend his seat during the 2017 general election.
Local media last week reported that the ruling coalition intends to splash Sh2 billion during the launch pf the party.
The revelation caused a stir with social commentators accusing Jubilee of being extravagant at a time civil servants are begging government for salary increases.
Uhuru is expected to face a candidate to be fielded by Cord during the 2017 polls.
