The husband to former Nairobi Women Representative Rachel Shebesh is receiving treatment at Nairobi Hospital after he allegedly shot himself in the leg.
The circumstances in which Mr. Franklin Ambundo, 52, might have suffered the gunshot injuries are however under investigation by police officers after another person had also turned up to seek medication with gunshot wounds.
Mr. Ambundo claims that he had accidentally shot himself slightly above his left knee when he was servicing his Glock 17 rifle at their home in Nairobi on Tuesday.
“Officers from the Kilimani Police Station rushed to the hospital as is the norm, and established that the patient was a civilian gun holder and that he had discharged one round of ammunition injuring himself,” police said.
An informer in the Nairobi Hospital had told the police that a patient with a gunshot wound was seeking treatment immediately when he went in to be treated.
