Nairobi senatorial and Women Rep aspirants on Jubilee tickets Johnson Sakaja and Rachel Shebesh have moved to defend NASA leader Raila Odinga in a spate of violence and hostility meted on him.

Through a statement posted on her Twitter handle, Shebesh condemned the action and asked the youths to exercise restraint in such events.

"I condemn in the strongest terms the violence meted out on the Nasa campaign team in Thika."

On his part, Sakaja heaped more condemnation on the attacks and said that all violence must come to a stop.

"Let us, as Kenyans, tolerate each other and allow even those we may not agree with to exercise their constitutional right to seek votes in every part of the country," he said.

He asked the police to play their role and ensure perpetrators of such chaos do not go unpunished.

Thika residents armed with rungus and stones heckled Raila before they began pelting stones at him and his caravan.
