Speaking on Wednesday afternoon, the outgoing women rep further called on Kenyans to maintain peace, saying we need it now more than eveer.

She took issue with the opposition coalition, NASA, who have rejected the results on grounds that the electoral agency system was tampered with.

“My concentration was about peace, therefore I’m calling on the Nasa leadership that the win of Uhuru was not disputed when Kenyans were voted,” she said.

“If there were peaceful elections in the country, it has to be this particular one, so let us maintain peace,” she added.

The Nairobi Woman Rep seat attracted six other candidates including Rahab Ndambuki, Nadya Khan, Teresia Omolo, Winnie Wainaina, Rosemary Macharia and Khadija Theuri who collectively managed about three per cent of the votes.  Esther Passaris ran for the same seat during the 2013 General Election and lost to Rachel Shebesh.
