Kitui gubernatorial hopeful Charity Ngilu has urged Senator David Musila to shelve his ambitions as the race to unseat governor Julius Malombe hots up.
Speaking on Tuesday, the former Lands Cabinet Secretary said she was confident of winning the county's top seat, warning Musila of an embarrassing defeat.
“I want to urge Musila to leave this seat for me. I know his strengths but I can say for sure I will defeat him at the ballot. To avoid humiliation, I ask him to shelve his ambitions and wait for another appointment when NASA forms the government,” she said.
“My development track record in my short stint in government is a proven indicator that I can deliver services to the county electorate once given a chance,” she added.
Ngilu will be vying on a Narc Party ticket, whereas Senator Musila will be seeking to unseat governor Malombe as an independent candidate after losing the Wiper Party ticket to the county chief during the just concluded party primaries.
