The Ministry of Health has imposed a ban on shisha smoking, a ban which has been gazetted.Businesses engaged in shisha are now up in arms against the ban, saying that it is going to hurt their businesses and deny them the means of making their livelihoods.''This is going to put us out of employment. The government ought to have banned substances used to make shisha, and not shisha as a whole,'' John Kirwa, a young man who owns a shisha-smoking joint in Pipeline says. The government imposed the ban over concerns about the health implications of the ban and suspicion that illegal substances were being used to make shisha.
