Wilson Ombati, 43, went missing on the eve of Christmas day, and efforts to trace his whereabouts were futile, with no one having any idea of what had happened to him.

According to his brother, Moses Ombati, the deceased left home early morning on December 24 to a nearby market, never to return.

“He left home a day to Christmas and failed to come back. We thought that he had gone to buy something for Christmas but that was not be the case. I have no idea of what transpired all this time to my brother,” said Ombati.

It is after this time that the family reported the matter to Gesima police post, where rescue efforts kicked off with the police failing to locate him.

“I personally went to Gesima and reported the matter for an action. We have been looking for him everywhere but all in vain,” he added.

According to him, his brother may have been executed elsewhere before his decomposing body was brought closer to home and subsequently dumped.

“Am pretty sure that he was not killed in this place. Chances are that he was killed in some other places before he was brought to this scene,” said the young brother.

Area chief Francis Rasugu said investigations to establish the cause of the death were ongoing, and asked those with any information to contact the authorities.

The body of the deceased was taken to Keroka District Mortuary.
