A 79 year-old granny was raped and left for the dead by two unknown assailants in Iyabe village, Suneka Sub County.
Iyabe location Chief Joseph Mosumari said the woman was found by passers by early in the morning dumped by the roadside and was rushed to Iyabe Level 4 Hospital where she is being treated.
“I was on my way to visit my son when I met the two boys who I could not identify. They attacked and raped me,” the granny said.
The chief condemned the act and said the villagers are helping the police in looking for the young men.
The matter has been reported at Kerina police station where the chief said they are hoping the culprits will be brought to book.
“We won’t tolerate such kind of an act whereby young men can rape an elderly person who is defenceless. We will make sure that they are found,” said Mosumari.
