There was confusion at Uhuru Park after a beehive was found dumped behind the dais on Tuesday morning.

NASA supporters arrived as early as 6 pm at the venue ready for the swearing-in of opposition leader Raila Odinga, and his Deputy Kalonzo Musyoka as president and deputy president of the Republic of Kenya.

Supporters at the venue were shocked to find the beehive prompting them to swing into action and get rid of it.

From a distance, they threw a leso on top of the beehive and set it ablaze, with several supporters cheering.

Police had warned that nobody would be allowed to access the venue on the swearing-in date, after the County Government of Nairobi closed down the grounds for renovations.

Minimal presence of uniformed police officers could be seen.
