Residents of Ikoba in South Mugirango Kisii County were left in a rude shock after a body of a female child was found dumped at Mome river.
Residents said the child was dumped by her mother a form two student in one of the schools in the area.
“The child’s mother lived with her grandmother and when he delivered the baby she left for her home. It is unclear how the child died making her dump the body near the river,” a Nyumba Kumi official Justine Nyabuto said.
The locals urged the local government officers in deep villages to ensure any girl who gets pregnant while at school goes back to school and have the kids taken care of because they will be the leaders of tomorrow.
The body of the child was taken to Kisii teaching and referral mortuary.
