This is after a drank man led the area chief to his home following several crackdowns.

“It is shocking that the woman who is staunch Catholic faithful is making and selling the outlawed chang’a brew. Police should launch a crackdown to search illicit brews at homes believed to be for Christians,” said a resident who declined to be named.

Innocent Oremo a Nyumba Kumi official who spoke on behalf of the area chief said they ambushed the woman’s home on Thursday morning 4:30 am after they were informed of illegal dealings happening at the homestead by members of the public.

“We acted after a successful tip-off from members of the public that the woman has been brewing chang’aa. We were shocked to find over 300 litres of chang’aa. We arrested the suspect and she is currently held at a Nyacheki police station,” said Oremo.
