Elders from Bokondo village in Nyamira County on Wednesday cursed a middle aged woman who skipped her husband’s burial.
The elders, led by Philip Nyakoyo, accused the woman identified Moraa from Kisii County for neglecting her husband while he was sick at a Nairobi hospital.
“Moraa will not find a man in her life time because she abandoned our son who loved her dearly and married her legally.
"She skipped the funeral citing irreconcilable differences but the spirit of our son will hunt her all through her life,” said Nyakoyo.
Nyakoyo said the deceased family must get back the dowry that had been paid to the woman's family as part of norms in traditional marraiges.
“As elders of this community we will go to the woman’s home to demand the dowry our son paid to the family of the woman," he said.
