Family members of the late Mutinda Mulwa could not agree on the dates to hold the events separately ending up having the events run on the same day.

The pre-wedding of a lady of the family Dibora Mutinda happened as the burial of her older sister Carol Syombua was being held.

This is, however, said to have been contributed by a rivalry in the country that is said to have sprouted recently.

According to area residents, it was agreed that the burial is postponed to allow the pre-wedding which had been prepared for a long time.

"Today is when I saw one of my sisters appear with police officers trying to force me to attend the burial, I told them that they can not force me to attend the burial and they left," said one of the brothers.

The brother said they could not postpone the pre-wedding since preparations had already been made and some perishable goods had already been bought.

Either two members of the family could not hear any of this and maintained that the burial will continue where they held it barely 300 meters from the pre-wedding venue.

The area Chief Justus Mulwa has, however, confirmed that his office had only issued the pre-wedding permit to the family.

"On our side, we had issued a permit on the pre-wedding ceremony," the chief said.
