It is out of this concern that he was admitted to a rehabilitation centre on Thursday so that he can be helped to overcome his destructive indulgence.
''I would like to be helped so that I can lead a responsible life. Cheap alcohol is destroying my life,'' he said moments before boarding a waiting vehicle that would take him to rehabilitation.
Githeriman caused quite a stir in 2017 when he was captured in a voting queue while enjoying a meal of boiled maize and beans.
The photo went viral instantly, affording Kenyans a moment of hilarity in a tense period.
It is hoped that his stint at the rehabilitation centre will help him salvage his future and turn him into a responsible man that can be looked up to by the young ones in the society.
