A middle-aged woman on Thursday night went into labour pains at a famous nightclub in Kisumu.
The incident brought to an end the dancing at the club as revelers created room for the lady to deliver.
According to one of the attendants, the woman was in the company of one lady and a middle-aged man believed to be her husband.
The attendant further noted that the lady was not drinking alcohol, but had dropped by to pick her husband who was at the bar.
“The lady was not drinking, she was in the company of another female. I asked her what she would take and she ordered water,” noted Franko Simbi the bar attendant.
The revelers helped the lady out of the club and called her a taxi which ferried her to hospital.
Most of the revelers wondered why a pregnant woman would visit a club in that condition.
Here are some reactions:
“I am shocked why someone would come to such a place in her condition. What if there was no taxi nearby. Things would have gone wrong,” noted Silvia Okoth.
“I am not surprised to see the pregnant lady here at the bar. Men have left their responsibilities and sometimes it forces their wives to start looking for them,” noted Cynthia Nyanje.
“This is a very unfortunate incident. I always see pregnant women in bars with tight short skirts dancing with heels making it very risky for them, and the unborn baby. It should, however, serve as a lesson to the rest,” noted Wesley Ochieng.
“The all incident was a bizarre one. I was laughing watching the drunk men and women trying to help her while some fell down. All the same, I am glad she is safe,” stated Emmy Omulo.
