A middle-aged man from Gikuni in Kabete, Kiambu County is undergoing treatment at Nyathuna Hospital, after he was allegedly attacked and sodomised by unknown gang of men Sunday evening.
The residents said that the man had just been admitted at a nearby hospital, but the hospital officials kicked him out for lack of medication fee.
“The man was found naked here in the morning by school children. He was very weak and his one leg and hand seemed broken, this is inhumane,” said Wanjiku Murima, a witness.
The residents say that insecurity in the area has deteriorated, and cases of rape significantly increased.
“It is just last year that two ladies were raped and killed here by unknown people. No arrests have been made,” said John Mwaura, resident.
Loise Wambui, another resident said the cases have been on the rise, but the security organs have not done enough to control the situation.
“The people raping men and women here are locals but no one dares report them for fear of reprisal,” said Wambui.
They now want security in the area to be stepped up to avert more such cases from occurring again.
