A man and his wife on Thursday morning died at different places but on the same time.
The incident which has left residents of Mogonga town Kisii County where the couple lived in shock.
According to Simon Nyakoyo, a local theman only identified as Omweri died while receving treatment at Kenyenya hospital while his wife Esther Omweri died at home.
"We were at the hospital when he passed on and when we called home to inform his family we were shocked to be told that the wife had also died," he said.
According to him, the wife was not sick and she was preparing to go and see her husband when she died.
He said that they would seek the advise of elders on what to do as the deaths were abnormal.
Mr Amos Nyamote, the brother to the deceased said that they would conduct rituals before burrying the couple.
The bodies were taken to the Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary.
