A truck driver died on steering wheel on Wednesday near Daraja Mbili market along Kisii-Kisumu Highway.

Eye witnesses say the truck lost control perhaps as a result of instant death of the unidentified man.

"He possibly died while driving because at the scene, we pleaded with him to open the car door but in vain," said Fred Okong'o.

Confirming the incident,  Kisii-Migori Highway patrol Officer Edwin Kiptanui said the driver had died instantly adding that police are yet to establish the cause.

"We are trying to reach the family using personal documents we recovered. For now, his body will be taken to Kisii Teaching and Referral," he said.
