Shock and grief on engulfed residents of Shikhambi Village in Kakamega County after a man stoned his step-sister to death.
Emmanuel Akuku, 30, allegedly killed his sister 36, for “refusing to get married.”
Area residents told edaily that Akuku had been bugging the deceased, incessantly, to get a husband so that he benefits from her bride price.
Eyewitnesses claim Akuku, who is currently on run, stoned his step- sister to death following a quarrel that ensued between the two on Friday morning.
Neighbours claim they heard Akuku complaining that his step-sister had given birth to three children while still being housed by her parents.
The suspect then dumped the body in River Mulakha and fled as neighbors were baying for his blood.
Kakamega OCPD Tito Kilonzi confirmed the incident adding the police are still pursuing Akuku.
Kilonzi asked members of the public to provide any information to the security agents that can lead to the arrest of the suspect.
