An 18-year-old man has been arrested in Murang'a after he allegedly attempted to exhume his mother’s remains.

According to the suspect, Elias Njoroge, he wanted to exhume his mother because he wanted to communicate with her. 

Citizen TV reports that Njoroge, said that he also felt lonely since his siblings were taken away to a children’s home. 

It is alleged that the suspect was a few meters from reaching the mother's casket when he was caught. 

After his arrest, the suspect is reported to have escaped through the roof but was re-arrested.

Neighbors allege that Njoroge could be abusing drugs.
