Residents of Kibera’s Katwekera’s area woke up to a rude shock on Tuesday morning after they found an infant dumped in the garbage.
According to an eyewitness, Jack Ouma, the incident left a lot of people in awe of what a young girl, believed to be the mother of the abandoned baby, did which was termed inhumane.
"We request all young girls and boys to be careful and understand their roles in life. This includes child care when they get pregnant, otherwise fit into the family planning program,” Ouma said.
He also added that many times in Katwekera area of the warehouse has been the abandoning area of children, which residents are not happy with.
“We are calling on the police to investigate this case as it is unreasonable and illegal,’’ Ouma said.
Confirming the incident, area chief, Jared Ochieng said they are investigating to know who was involved in the act.
