Two couples have left locals of Itumbe area, Kisii county in shock after they agreed to change partners.
The men aged 30 and 32 are said to be close friends and they opted to exchange wives after they realised that they were admiring each others partner.
In a more shocking confession, Mr Evans Momanyi and Julius Onyoni proposed the idea to their wives who accepted to do so.
"I have been admiring the wife of my friend and never knew she equally admired me and when I shared the idea with my wife she quickly accepted to move and live with Evans," said Mr Onyoni.
According to him, the whole village came to learn about it and when elders tried to intervene the couples told them off.
He said that they even held a celebration to mark the change of wives and they were all happy with no intentions of going back to their previous marriages.
An elder, Stanley Makori told Hivisasa that they were not happy with the move but could not oppose it because the marriage was legal.
"The lovers do not have any blood relations in any way and because of that their marriages are legal. That is why we did not intervene," he said.
"We tried to intervene but we realized that both parties had a bonded agreement above all no one had a child that we would consider in the move" said Makori
