A vocal Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala has given a wide berth a meeting organised by Francis Atwoli aimed at charting the future for the Luhya nation.
Speaking to a journalist, Cleophas Malala said that he had not been invited to the meeting and maintained that he would not support Musalia Mudavadi until he came clean on why he missed the much-touted swearing-in.
''Well, I was not invited to the meeting. What's more, I am still maintaining my position that I am not supporting Mudavadi until he tells us very clearly why he missed the swearing-in,'' Malala said.
The conspicuous absence of the straight-shooting legislator is a huge blow to Musalia Mudavadi who needs the support of Luhya nation for his 2022 presidential bid.
Malala has in recent days called on Musalia Mudavadi to ensure that Kalonzo gets sworn in.
