A woman gave birth while travelling to Mombasa from Nakuru on Saturday night. However, for 19 year old Elizabeth Nekesa it was last thing she expected.
"As we approached Nairobi, I started experiencing pains that intensified as we left the city," she said as quoted by the Daily Nation.
According to Nekesa she was headed to Coast Institute of Technology in Mombasa where she goes to college but was stopped along the way.
She was admitted at Makindu hospital on Saturday night after giving birth to a baby boy. The two were later discharged on Monday.
"I did not see it coming. Otherwise, I would have delayed the journey back to college," she said.
Nekesa's mother, Beatrice Kwamboka says the news surprised her but nevertheless rushed to the aid of her daughter.
"We are yet to find a name for the baby," Ms Kwamboka said.
She further thanked the bus manager of the Modern Coast Bus for helping her daughter as well as the hospital for lifting the charges.
