Charles Mamboleo says that he has lost two sheep in two weeks to the cow that has been pulling the sheep from their shed which is adjacent to where it is enclosed and killing them before eating them.

Mambole is now worried that the dairy cow might turn to his children too.

"Last week the cow killed one of the sheep and it was my daughter who had woken up to go and milk it who noticed and called me because she found the cow tearing the sheep apart. This week it has killed another one," said Mamboleo.

He said the cow is promptly fed with the necessary feeds and that its turning on the sheep and eating them is a strange thing to him.

Area Veterinary Officer Paul Bii said that the cow is lacking some important minerals in the body though he termed the behaviour as unusual.

"Sometimes some of the salts that farmers get from local Agrovets lack some important elements and when the animal doesn't get them from the food it is eating it can go to any extreme to acquire them," said Bii.
