Shock engulfed Machakos town on April 12, 2016 in the evening after police officer threatened to shoot his ex-love.
The police officer had been assigned to guard Barclays Bank but reportedly absconded duty to visit the lady at her nearby salon.
According to eye witnesses, the police officer demanded to have a look at the lady's phone but she refused after which drama ensued.
"I was passing by before I heard the voice of a man shouting at a lady and asking her to hand him her phone or else he would shoot her," said eyewitness.
"I was shocked to see a police officer holding a gun and ran away shouting where residents flocked the place to rescue the lady," he added.
He was arrested by Machakos patrol officers and taken to Machakos police station where his gun was withdrawn as investigations are launched into the matter.
