A secondary school student is being sought by the police after he defiled a 10-year-old girl in Tarbaj Sub-County in Wajir County.

Tarbaj Deputy County Commissioner Andrew Mwiti who confirmed the incident said the student defiled the minor while she was herding her parents’ donkeys.

Mr. Mwiti said the student, who studies at Tarbaj Secondary School committed the heinous act on the minor on Tuesday evening.

He said the incident was reported at Tarbaj Police Station adding that investigations into the matter have been launched.

After the matter was reported at the police station, the victim was taken to Tarbaj Sub-County Hospital for examination and treatment.

“The matter was reported to the police and the case is under police investigation. The minor was taken to the hospital for treatment,” said the deputy county commissioner.

In February this year, three men gang-raped a 15-year-old girl for two days in Habaswein Sub County in Wajir.
