Over 595 polling stations did not submit presidential results during August 8 elections, IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati has confirmed.

A majority Supreme Court judges voted in favour of invalidation of presidential elections that saw President Uhuru Kenyatta’s victory cancelled.

And in the memo to CEO Ezra Chiloba, Chebukati confirms a number of shocking details that resurfaced in the Raila Odinga’s Supreme Court petition.

Also, the memo claims 10, 366 polling stations transmitted results via text instead of KIEMS technology and without accompaniment of Forms 34A as required by the law.

To further question the authenticity of the results, 682 polling stations according to Chebukati had similar number of registered voters and votes rejected.

Further, Chebukati argued that some secretariat officials used his details to make illegal transactions in the IEBC system which reportedly recorded over 9000 transactions without Chebukati’s knowledge.

The new revelations within the commission have created divisions with a number of commissioners backing Chebukati while others standing with embattled CEO.

In his radical changes, Chebukati sidelined Chiloba from his election project team, a move that did not go down well with Jubilee.
